About the Westward Ho! Baptist (Free) Church

The church is in the centre of the village community of Westward Ho! It is a loving, caring, growing and supportive fellowship where everyone is welcomed in the name of Jesus.

Teaching and fellowship is biblically based, mission orientated and relevant to today. We seek to reflect the unique life giving, life changing and personal impact of Jesus' death and resurrection in all we do.

Lively worship on Sundays is led by our own musicians, using a blend of traditional and modern hymns and songs. Children and young people play an important part in the life of the fellowship: we worship together for part of our morning service at least twice a month and provide a full programme of Sunday and weekday activities for all ages.

We believe and teach that the Christian faith is relevant for our 21st century world and culture - God is in everyday life. So, our faith doesn't stop at Sundays and throughout the week we offer activities for all ages ranging from Tots and Toddlers, young people's clubs, through to our popular monthly lunch club.

We work with other local groups, TPAG (Torridge Poverty Action Group - founded by churches in the area in partnership with the local authority to help those who so easily fall outside the safety net of other provisions) and Sure Start Bideford (a partnership between parents and local agencies seeking to address the needs of families and children in a deprived area) to serve the communities of Westward Ho! and Northam. Our well equipped hall is used throughout the week for our own and other community activities.

Please browse through our website and get in contact if we can help you in any way.
