A plot of land next to the Church Hall site was purchased for £30,000 in 1998.
A local firm, RGP Architects, was appointed in 2005 and plans for a 2-storey, multi purpose building on the site were drawn up incorporating the 'wish list' of the fellowship. Informal discussions with Torridge District Council at the outset, indicated a desire to see a community facility built in Westward Ho! and following submission of the plans in December 2005, full Planning Permission was granted in March 2006.
It has cost us almost £50,000 to get to this point, including the cost of the land and Architects' fees. Members of the fellowship have given sacrificially in addition to meeting the day to day costs of ministry. We owe no money - in fact, our building fund now shows a credit balance in excess of £50,000 from a standing start of nothing almost 18 months ago.
